The clerics of the Evangelical Church State in Saxony and the Diocese of Dresden-Meissen, Tobias Bilz and Heinrich Timmerevers, are advocating for a fresh perspective towards one another following the recent election. They emphasized that the political landscape and society as a whole need individuals who are open-minded, can tolerate varying viewpoints, and strive for practical resolutions, as stated in their joint statement.

Bilz and Timmerevers also advised against harboring hostility towards others and against promoting extremist or nationalist ideologies within our nation.

The newly installed state parliament, which mirrors the assortment of Saxon society, necessitates thoughtful dialogue, according to the bishops. They attribute the election results to the desire of the public for their concerns to be acknowledged and valued.

No single political party holds the exclusive right to represent the will of the people. Therefore, the newly elected parliamentarians must possess not only a firm stance but also "a high level of readiness to engage in dialogue and compromise".

Measuring the success of the new dialogue between the clerics and their advocacy for open-mindedness can be a crucial step in understanding the effectiveness of their joint efforts after the election.
