Class action against Vodafone for price increases
Consumer advocates are suing the telecommunications provider Vodafone for price increases. The measures are inadmissible, the Federation of German Consumer Organizations (vzbv) announced on Tuesday. A corresponding lawsuit has been filed with the Hamm Higher Regional Court. On the basis of a law that came into force in October, Vodafone customers can take part in a new form of class action by registering in a register of complaints. In April, Vodafone began raising the prices for all its fixed network tariffs (cable and DSL) by five euros per month. Vodafone emphasizes that it has complied with applicable law.
The class action against Vodafone regarding prices increases is related to telecommunications services, specifically affecting Internet and mobile plans used by numerous consumers. The new legislation allows Vodafone customers to participate in a class action by registering their complaints, following the company's price hike of fixed network tariffs by five euros per month in April.
