Energy - Clara gas leaves Sachsen-Anhalt at previous year's level
Clarification systems in Saxony-Anhalt generated approximately the same amount of electricity from Biogas as the previous year. The generated electricity amounted to 32.7 million Kilowatt-hours, according to the Statistical Office. The previous year, it was 32.5 million Kilowatt-hours. Therefore, 31.5 million Kilowatt-hours of the generated amount were used in the clarification plants themselves. Around 1.1 million Kilowatt-hours were fed into the public grid. The clarification plants won a total of 16.6 million cubic meters of Biogas for power generation. The Biogas is produced during sewage treatment and is considered a renewable energy source according to the Federal Environment Agency.
In Saxony-Anhalt, the electricity generation from Biogas at clarification stations remained similar to last year's level, reaching approximately 32.7 million Kilowatt-hours. With this amount, almost 97% of the generated electricity was utilized within the clarification plants itself, totaling approximately 31.5 million Kilowatt-hours. The remaining 2.5% or about 1.1 million Kilowatt-hours was transferred to the public grid for distribution and consumption.
