Municipalities - City of Flensburg extends barrier at sagging quay edge
For safety reasons, the city of Flensburg is extending the closed area at the sagging quay edge in the port. The city's Technical Operations Center announced on Thursday that this was based on investigations by an expert. An expert opinion on the condition of the area is expected to be available by mid-February. Among other things, divers will examine the damaged bank at the ship's bridge.
In October, a severe Baltic storm surge flooded the area of Flensburg harbor. A short time later, the quay edge subsided over a length of around 40 meters and became unstable over a further 60 meters.
