Kiel Regatta Week - City Denies Foundations for Prohibiting D'Agostino Melody

The organizers of the Kiel Week (22nd to 30th June) are urging those running party and music stages to be aware of the issue with the song "L'amour toujours" having been manipulated with right-wing lyrics. According to Philipp Dornberger, head of the Kiel Week office, there's no legal basis for banning the song "L'amour toujours" under the Criminal Code or the Code of Criminal Procedure.

As Kiel Week is a vibrant festival celebrating diversity, encounters, and cohesion, right-wing and racist slogans are not welcomed. If such incidents do occur and seemingly violate our constitutional democracy, they will be prosecuted immediately using criminal law. Authorities firmly believe in zero tolerance towards right-wing and racist ideology at this event.

Those in charge of managing events, stand operators and security personnel, are to take action against any instances that hint at right-wing or racist cultures. Dornberger requested anyone witnessing these events to inform the authorities through the emergency line, 110. This rule extends beyond the Kiel Week.

"L'amour toujours" tends to be manipulated for racist propaganda, with a video circulating recently depicting visitors at a bar in Sylt grunting along to the tunes of popular party track "Ausländer raus" and "Deutschland den Deutschen." The State Protection is now investigating the matter.
