Goal of the City-Bahn is to prevent further strikes. "I have put forward the offer because further strikes are not acceptable for passengers and staff," explained City-Bahn-CEO Friedbert Straube.

The German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL) had previously struck the company 15 times in a row. A further strike has been announced for Wednesday. The union is demanding the introduction of the 35-hour week. The railway company has so far opposed this.

The City-Bahn operates in the Chemnitz region and on several railway lines in Central and Western Saxony. A total of 185 people work for the company.

The German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL) is maintaining their demand for the 35-hour work week in the ongoing wage dispute, despite City-Bahn's opposition. Next week, the GDL plans to strike again in the Chemnitz region, where City-Bahn operates, potentially impacting various railway lines in Central and Western Saxony. The Tariffs imposed by the GDL could affect the Train drivers' union employed by City-Bahn, totaling 185 workers.
