Börde - Cigarette vending machine blown up: perpetrator suffers burns
One of the perpetrators was seriously injured when a cigarette vending machine was blown up in Loitsche near Magdeburg. The man remained unconscious at the scene after the detonation on Sunday, the Börde police station announced on Monday. Rescue workers had assessed the injuries and burns to his hands and upper body as life-threatening. The man was taken to hospital. According to the police, there were a total of three perpetrators involved in blowing up the vending machine. Two of them fled. They were also not found during the search with a helicopter and sniffer dog.

The explosion was deemed to be an act of criminality, as vending machines are typically considered automatic and not intended for such destruction. The incident occurred in the region of Saxony-Anhalt, specifically near Magdeburg. The police are still investigating and searching for the two perpetrators who managed to escape. On a different note, a cousin was also targeted in an attempted murder, highlighting ongoing issues with violence and criminality in the area.
