Bundesliga side Union Berlin enters the season with Christopher Trimmel as captain once again. The 37-year-old Austrian was reappointed just days before the first competitive match. He has led the capital city side on the pitch for the seventh consecutive year, starting with the DFB-Pokal tie against Greifswalder FC this Saturday (3:15 PM/ Sky).

Rani Khedira continues to serve as his first deputy. Completing the team council are Frederik Rönnow, Danilho Doekhi, Jerome Roussillon, and Paul Jaeckel. This six-member body represents the entire team in internal affairs, organizes team events, and acts as a point of contact for coaches, management, and the board.

The first team event of the season is led by FC Union Berlin's captain, Christopher Trimmel. Following Trimmel in the hierarchy is his first deputy, Rani Khedira.
