Chris Hemsworth admits he evolved into a caricature in the recent "Thor" film.

A renowned Australian actor was initially chosen to play the Marvel hero at just 25 years old. His portfolio boasts an impressive 29 films in total, with 9 of these centered around the Marvel franchise.

During a recent conversation with Vanity Fair, however, the actor conveyed his feelings of dissatisfaction with his most recent appearance as the character in the 2022 movie "Thor: Love and Thunder."

The "Thor" franchise consists of four films. The debut movie, "Thor," released in 2011, was succeeded by three others: "Thor: Dark World" (2013), "Thor: Ragnarok" (2017), and 2022's "Thor: Love and Thunder." Thor is also present in "Avengers" films.

The interviewer referenced Robert Downey Jr., an "Avengers" co-star, who had praised Hemsworth's performances in "Thor: Ragnarok," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Avengers: Endgame," saying they formed "a formidable hat trick."

However, it's evident that the actor isn't as enthused about this latest "Thor" film, directed by Taika Waititi. When it premiered in 2022, CNN's reviewer, Brian Lowry, described "Love and Thunder" as a "movie that’s muscular and handsome but at its best sporadically likeable, and even harder to love."

Hemsworth confessed: "I got caught up in the improv and the wackiness, and I became a parody of myself."

"I didn't stick the landing," he admitted.

Despite his disappointment, Hemsworth hasn't said goodbye to the character just yet, as the interviewer mentioned his plans for another Thor movie.

He's been taking a break from work but will make a comeback in "Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga," a prequel to the 2015 movie "Mad Max: Fury Road."

Revealing his own genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's disease in his series "Limitless" made headlines in 2022. Despite his efforts to clarify that this wasn't a death sentence, the story evolved into one of him having dementia and contemplating retirement.

Hemsworth shared some insights about his father during the interview, who also has the gene and is exhibiting early signs of the condition. The actor reflected, "I know my dad is going through a transition of acceptance around 'I'm not this big, strong man with all the answers who everybody looks to for guidance now,'" adding, "He's much more the observer now, rather than leading the pack. It's a reminder to me because those are exactly the qualities I need: stillness, observation, absorption, a respect for the present moment."
