Chocoversum Chocolate Museum's Workshop Gets a Makeover

Free time spent on non-work activities - Chocoversum Chocolate Museum's Workshop Gets a Makeover

In the center of Hamburg stands the Chocoversum Chocolate Museum, where you can create your own chocolate slabs. The hands-on section of the museum has recently been revamped, closing for a week before reopening on Tuesday. "The aim is for this to be the ultimate highlight for our visitors," said museum curator Anne Stribeck. "Here, they should have a great time and be able to express their imagination."

The revised workshop now features several rounded, adjustable work stations along with a sizeable chocolate bar. Chocoversum's employees will lead up to 32 participants through the facility and supply them with liquid chocolate for customization. As part of the workshop makeover, white chocolate tablets are now an option for decoration as well. Moreover, the workshop's aesthetic has undergone a revamp, transforming the white kitchen theme into a cozy ambiance reminiscent of liquid chocolate.

The renewal of Chocoversum's chocolate workshop has not only affected the participatory experience but also the shopping options. Guests can now purchase more sustainable chocolate, with approximately 10% of the merchandise being of this variety going forward.

Chocoversum opened its doors in 2011 within a historic building adjacent to the Chile House, just a short stroll from the primary train station. Last year alone, around 215,000 individuals visited the privately-run attraction, breaking previous records. A fifth of the visitors are school groups. As per the data, aforce of roughly 100 individuals works for the Chocoversum. The tour, lasting 90 minutes, concludes with the design of a custom chocolate slab.
