Children's films wanted for "Goldener Spatz" competition
The children's media festival "Goldener Spatz" is once again looking for films, series, but also apps and more contributions for the 2024 edition of the festival. Media professionals can now submit their work for the competition at the German Children's Media Festival until December 8, as the foundation behind the "Goldener Spatz" announced on Tuesday. The special feature: At the "Spatz", a children's jury decides who wins.
German-language and co-produced films and contributions can be submitted for the "Kino-TV" competition, with the exception of films completed between January 2023 and May 2024. They should be aimed at children up to around twelve years of age. We are looking for short and feature-length films, animated series, documentaries and entertainment formats.
For the "Digital" competition, the organizers are looking for professionally produced digital and audiovisual media offerings for children up to the age of twelve. One of the requirements for the entries is that they tell coherent stories and use the possibilities of digital media and platforms in a meaningful way. The first publication should be between January 2022 and May 2024 and the entries should have been developed in German-speaking countries.
From 2 to 8 June, the organizers are once again expecting children, film people and media experts at the "Goldener Spatz" in Gera and Erfurt. The prize will be awarded for the 45th time next year, and it will be the 32nd edition of the associated festival.
Parents can discuss potential submissions for the "Goldener Spatz" Movie category with their children, as numerous children's movies are wanted for the competition. During the festival, children can also enjoy watching their favorite movies, as part of the diverse film program at the "Goldener Spatz" Children's Media Festival.
