Media - Children wanted for juries at the "Goldener Spatz" festival

The "Goldener Spatz" is once again on the lookout for young film and media fans: anyone between the ages of 9 and 13 can now apply to be a jury member for next year's edition of the children's media festival. This is possible until February 11, as the foundation behind the "Goldener Spatz" announced on Monday. Up to 34 children will be selected, who in turn will decide the winners of the main prizes in two juries.

Those who make it onto the jury will spend the week of the festival working on the submitted entries, have to evaluate them and present the "Golden Sparrows" at the awards ceremony. Participation is free of charge for the children. They are looked after for the duration of the festival and are provided with accommodation and meals.

Children can participate not only from Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but also from German-speaking regions and communities from other countries. Further details about the application requirements can be found on the website.

According to the organizers, the "Goldener Spatz" is the largest festival for German-language children's media in Germany. From June 2 to 8, the German Children's Media Foundation Goldener Spatz is expecting film professionals and other media experts in Gera and Erfurt alongside the young jury members.
