Basketball Bundesliga - Chemnitz wins against Heidelberg
The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has strengthened its lead in the German Basketball League. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore won 93:69 (53:34) against bottom-of-the-table MLP Academics Heidelberg on Saturday. It was Chemnitz's tenth win in its eleventh game. Defending champions ratiopharm Ulm, who have won eight out of ten games so far, face cup winners Bayern Munich this Sunday in second place in the table.
Kevin Yebo, Wesley van Beck (17 each), De Andre Lansdowne (15), Jeffery Garrett, Kaza Kajami-Keane (14 each) and Aher Uguak (10) played the biggest part in the Niners' success against Heidelberg. Only Vincent Kesteloot (15), Jeffery Carroll (13), Elias Lasisi (11) and Isaiah Whaley (10) scored in double figures for Heidelberg.
Chemnitz had slight teething troubles. The home side trailed 7:12 after four minutes. The club from Saxony turned the game around in the first quarter, went 25:20 in front and extended its lead to 34:20 (12') with a 9:0 run. The home side was not troubled after this spurt.
