Chemnitz in the round of 16 of the Fiba Europe Cup ahead of schedule

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team has qualified for the round of 16 of the Fiba Europe Cup ahead of time with its fifth win in its fifth group game. The Bundesliga club defeated Polish representative Spojnia Stargard by a clear 97:75 (41:36) on home court on Wednesday to remain unbeaten for the twelfth competitive game in a row. Wesley van Beck (20), Tylor Ongwae (16), Jeffery Garrett (14), Ousman Krubally (13) and Aher Uguak (10) played the biggest part in the success. Arguster Daniels (19), Wesley Gordon (12) and Aleksandar Langovic (11) scored the most points for Stargard.

The home side did not allow itself to be thrown off course by its 2:10 false start (3.). The club from Saxony tied the scores at 12:12 five minutes later and turned on the heat in the second quarter. The team of Head Coach Rodrigo Pastore turned a 22:23 deficit (13') into a 41:33 lead (19').

As the period progressed, the opposing side from Poland's strength diminished. Chemnitz stretched the gap from 50:40 (22') to 70:46 (28') in the space of six minutes and was able to save its strength for the German league in the final quarter. The club from Saxony was no longer in trouble, in particular thanks to its accuracy from beyond the arc. 17 of its 29 shots landed in the Polish basket.

The Niners Chemnitz's impressive run in the Fiba Europe Cup continues, as they secured their qualification for the round of 16 with their Basketball game against Spojnia Stargard. In the Fiba Europe Cup, Chemnitz will aim to build on their success and potentially advance further.
