Chemnitz consolidates top spot with 99:63 win in Peja

The Niners Chemnitz basketball team can hardly be denied a place in the last sixteen of the Fiba Europe Cup. The Bundesliga club won its visit to KB Peja in Kosovo on Wednesday by a commanding 99:63 (51:25). With their fourth win in four games, the club from Saxony underpinned its top position in Group H. Wesley van Beck played the biggest part in the success with 23 points, while new signing Ousman Krubally scored 14 points on his debut in a Niners' uniform.

Chemnitz only had slight difficulties in the opening spell, but turned on the heat after trailing 10:12 in the 6th minute. The club from Saxony pulled 26:12 ahead in the space of just eleven minutes (11') to 47:18 (17') and had already decided the encounter before the break. At no stage in the encounter did the home side find a way to embarrass Chemnitz's strong defense. The Bundesliga club impressed in attack with a very good percentage from beyond the arc. Of 28 attempts, 13 ended up in the opposing side's basket.

The Niners Chemnitz's impressive performance in the Fiba Europe Cup continues, as they clinch another victory, this time against KB Peja in Kosovo. With a dominant 99-63 scoreline, Chemnitz maintains its top spot in Group H, extensioning their unbeaten run in the FIBA Europe Cup basketball tournament.

In their victory over Peja, Chemnitz's squad, including Wesley van Beck and Ousman Krubally, collectively showcased their skills in Chemnitz, especially in their shooting from beyond the arc, converting 13 out of 28 attempts.
