- Charges against suspected drug traffickers

In the course of investigations against a group of online drug dealers, the Central Cybercrime Office of Bavaria has filed charges against two suspects. The two men, aged 32 and 33, are accused of operating a criminal organization involved in the illegal trafficking of large quantities of narcotics, as announced by a spokesperson for the General Prosecutor's Office in Bamberg.

The 33-year-old was arrested in Amsterdam in August 2023 and extradited to Germany in September 2023. As a computer specialist, he is believed to have been the mastermind behind the group. The 32-year-old acted as a courier, and at the time of his arrest in Düsseldorf in August 2023, he was found in possession of several kilograms of drugs. He allegedly received 5,000 euros for each monthly drug delivery to Germany.

Both suspects are believed to have been part of a group that, between December 2021 and August 2022, sent drugs via a website in at least 3,600 cases, including a kilogram of heroin and nearly 68,000 LSD trips.

The investigation was initiated following the death of a 44-year-old man from Rosenheim in April 2021, who had obtained drugs via an internet website. The investigation initially led to the identification and arrest of other individuals involved, some of whom have already been convicted, as announced by the authorities in January.

The current charges will now be decided by the Regional Court of Bamberg.

The Central Cybercrime Office of Bavaria conducted their investigations at their central office, leading to the filing of charges against the suspects. The trial for the filed charges will be heard at the Regional Court of Bamberg.
