Chancellor Scholz offers assistance to people affected by floods in Bavaria.

Scholz stated that he had already been to flood-prone regions four times this year. He emphasized the significance of not dwelling on individual incidents but rather the growing occurrence of disasters. Therefore, political action is necessary. "We cannot disregard our duty to halt human-induced climate change."

The village of Reichertshofen in Bavaria has been severely impacted by the persistent rain-induced flooding. Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) and Scholz paid a joint visit to the community in the Pfaffenhofen district. Söder mentioned that there are currently 20,000 volunteers assisting in Bavaria. Over 3,000 people have been forced to leave their homes and houses.

Söder explained that his cabinet would tackle the flood situation and provide assistance to the afflicted on Tuesday. "We will be guided on the most efficient and streamlined means of offering aid." Bavaria appreciates any support from the federal government, in addition to Scholz, Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser (SPD) visited Reichertshofen on Monday.
