Champions FC Bayern welcome Wolfsburg's female soccer players

Championship favorites FC Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg meet in the top match of the women's Bundesliga on Sunday. This year's Champions League finalists from Lower Saxony are two points clear of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the defending champions from Munich ahead of the match (3 p.m./MagentaSport, DAZN and ZDF live stream). It was still unclear whether DFB captain and goalscorer Alexandra Popp, among others, would be able to play for Wolfsburg due to her muscular problems. National goalkeeper Merle Frohms was also still in doubt for VfL due to the effects of a concussion.

The clash between the two perennial rivals will take place at the Bayern Campus, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. All of the past eleven championships have been won between the two clubs, with FC Bayern taking four titles and Wolfsburg seven.

FC Bayern Munich's women's team will face Bundesliga rivals VfL Wolfsburg in ahighly anticipated match. Despite the uncertainty surrounding the availability of DFB captain Alexandra Popp and national goalkeeper Merle Frohms due to their respective injuries, Wolfsburg aims to challenge the Bundesliga champions.
