Champions FC Bayern welcome Wolfsburg for top match

Championship favorites FC Bayern Munich and VfL Wolfsburg meet in the top match of the women's Bundesliga on Sunday. This year's Champions League finalists from Lower Saxony are two points clear of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim and the defending champions from Munich ahead of the match (3 p.m./MagentaSport, DAZN and ZDF live stream). It was still unclear whether DFB captain and goalscorer Alexandra Popp, among others, would be able to play for Wolfsburg due to her muscular problems. National goalkeeper Merle Frohms was also still in doubt for VfL due to the effects of a concussion.

The clash between the two perennial rivals will take place at the Bayern Campus, which has a capacity of 4,000 spectators. All of the past eleven championships have been decided between the two clubs, with FC Bayern winning four and Wolfsburg seven titles.

In this exciting clash, Soccer's Bundesliga champions FC Bayern Munich face off against VfL Wolfsburg, the team from Lower Saxony that reached the Champions League final this year. Despite their muscular issues, star players like DFB captain Alexandra Popp and Merle Frohms, who is dealing with the effects of a concussion, are still questionable for Wolfsburg's lineup.
