Timothée Chalamet (28) will star as Bob Dylan in a biopic set to hit U.S. theaters this Christmas. "A Complete Unknown," directed by James Mangold, is scheduled to premiere on December 25, according to Searchlight Pictures. Several industry outlets have reported the film's release. A German release date has not been announced.

Mangold's film will chronicle Dylan's early success as a folk musician up to his switch to electric guitar at the 1965 Newport Folk Festival. Chalamet, known for his roles in "Dune" and "Call Me By Your Name," will portray the legendary musician with his signature messy hair and nasal voice. Co-stars include Edward Norton and Monica Barbaro, with Elle Fanning playing a friend of Dylan's. The 83-year-old Dylan is involved in the production.
