Police investigate - Cellar sheds on fire in Hellersdorf
After a fire in a residential building in the Hellersdorf district, the police are investigating arson. This was announced by officials on Saturday. As the fire department reported, a cellar shed in Tangermünder Straße in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district was initially on fire in the morning. The fire department was on site with 24 firefighters and extinguished the flames; no one was injured.
In the afternoon, the alarm was raised again: according to the fire department, this time there was a fire in several cellar rooms in the same six-storey building. All residents had to leave their apartments. Around 45 firefighters extinguished the flames. According to a fire department spokesperson, one person received medical treatment on site. A fire department bus was also sent to the scene of the fire, where people were given temporary accommodation. According to initial findings, the initially extinguished fire had flared up again in the afternoon, said a police spokesperson.
