Northern Area of Frisia - Celebrating 25 years of Multimar Wattforum takes place this Sunday.
The Multimar Wattforum in Tönning has been answering curious questions about sea devils, mussel feeding, and the workings of ebb and flow for 25 years. This center for marine education boasts a wealth of knowledge about the Wadden Sea, showcasing its beauty and value through multimedia exhibits and aquariums. They see themselves as a beacon of light for this World Heritage Site.
Covering a vast area of more than 4,000 square meters, the Multimar Wattforum showcases the unique landscape that lies between salt marshes, mudflats, and the North Sea. Don't miss the impressive pilot whale skeleton, as well as the large aquarium with panoramic window. Beyond that, there are 36 other aquariums teeming with over 280 species of underwater life, from tiny shrimp and snails to massive sturgeon, rays, and cod. On the outdoor property, a family of eurasian otters has made their home over the past year.
To celebrate its 25th birthday, the National Park Center and UNESCO World Heritage Site's largest information center in Schleswig-Holstein will go all out with a variety of activities and a festive program on Sunday. Visitors can participate in creating a coral reef, amigurumi crochet, stamping fabric bags, storytelling, and illuminating lectures. Additionally, there will be waddling experiments and a March Olympics.
