In Reutlingen's recent municipal elections, the CDU came out on top with approximately 22.5% of the votes. The Greens came in second with around 19.6% of the votes. The Free Voters Association (FWV) took third with about 13%, while the AfD secured 12.4%. The SPD just barely trailed behind the AfD with 12.38% of the votes. Lastly, the FDP garnered 6.2% of the votes. A total of 85,900 people were eligible to vote. This year's voter turnout was 53.7% (compared to 50.3% in 2019).

During the municipal elections held in 2019, the Greens claimed the top spot with a whopping 23.1% of the votes. The CDU took the runner-up position at 20.7%, and the SPD was close behind with 15.4%. The FWV received 13.4% of the votes, followed by the AfD with 7.4%, and then the FDP with a mere 6.8%.

For the district, county, and local council elections held across Germany this year, around 8.6 million people were eligible to participate.
