The head of Brandenburg's CDU, Jan Redmann, is to be chosen as his party's lead candidate for the state elections today. In Potsdam's Schinkelhalle, the delegates want to draw up the state lists for both the state elections and next year's European elections. According to the board's proposal, Kristy Augustin, member of the state parliament, and General Secretary Gordon Hoffmann will stand for election to the state parliament behind Redmann. Christian Ehlers, who has been a member of the European Parliament for many years, is to fill the top position for the European Parliament elections.
The state lists of the parties for the election determine the order of the candidates who, in addition to the directly elected MPs, enter the state parliament according to the party's share of the second vote.
