House of Representatives - CDU parliamentary group on retreat in Oberursel

The Berlin CDU-Faction is discussing a series of current topics at a retreat in Oberursel, Hesse. On Saturday, there will be a discussion about the prospects of Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER), with Lufthansa board representatives participating. The parliamentarians will also discuss with the Hessian Justice Minister the possibilities that can be offered by the increased use of IT and Artificial Intelligence in justice. Additionally, they will consider what a future financial policy concept of the Senate might look like.

On Sunday, the leader of the Global Islam Research Center at the University of Frankfurt, Prof. Susanne Schroeter, and author and extremism researcher Ahmad Mansour will give speeches. Afterwards, the faction will discuss migration and the economy.

A meeting with Hessian Minister President Boris Rhein is planned for today. According to reports, his long-term predecessor Volker Bouffier and the CDU faction leader in the Hessian Landtag, Ines Claus, will also attend the retreat. Berlin's Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, who is also an MP, will give a speech on working in the Senate. The inspection program of the three-day retreat includes the German Stock Exchange and the Frankfurter Paulskirche.

  4. As part of their retreat agenda, the CDU faction was also interested in exploring the possibilities of cooperation between Berlin and Hesse's capital city airport (BER) and Lufthansa, Germany's flagship airline.
  5. On the third day of the retreat, the House of Representatives members deliberated on the impact of immigration and economic migration on various aspects of German politics and society.
  6. In light of increasing political party competition in Germany, the topic of future election strategies and party alignments was a significant point of discussion during the retreat.
  7. Following the retreat, members of the CDU faction in the House of Representatives headed to Berlin's capital city airport (BER) to examine potential partnership opportunities for strengthening Berlin's position as an internationally-connected city.
