CDU leadership figure Voigt narrowly failed to secure a direct seat in Thuringia's election.

In the Erfurt III district, Thuringia's Leader Bodo Ramelow (from the Left party) clinched a direct victory. On the other hand, the AfD's top choice Björn Höcke encountered defeat in his constituency, handing it over to the CDU's Christian Tischner. The SPD's top candidate, Interior Minister Georg Maier, ended up in third place in his Gotha I constituency, with the AfD's Marcel Kramer bagging the victory.

The FDP's top nominee, Thomas Kemmerich, placed sixth in his Erfurt II constituency, with the CDU's Niklas Waßmann emerging victorious. Similarly, the Greens' top choice, Madeleine Henfling, failed to secure a win in the Ilm-Kreis I constituency, finishing fifth, as the CDU's Andréas Bühl clinched the victory.

On Sunday, Bodo Ramelow celebrated his direct victory in the Erfurt III district, marking a triumphant end to the week for the Left party. Despite the FDP's Thomas Kemmerich placing sixth in his Erfurt II constituency on the same day, the CDU continued to celebrate victories, with Niklas Waßmann emerging as the winner.
