CDU-candidate in Brandenburg attacked and insulted in a racist manner
Awemo had to be treated at the hospital as an outpatient on Thursday evening due to an incident. Investigations were initiated against the suspected perpetrator, a 29-year-old woman, for incitement of hatred in connection with bodily harm. The Police were informed via emergency call.
According to the current investigation status, it is assumed that she attacked Awemo due to racist motives. The suspect herself reported Awemo for bodily harm, it was further stated. The intensive investigations of the criminal police department continued.

The CDU chairman of Brandenburg, Jan Redmann, stated: "The increasing risk for people who politically engage for our country is unacceptable." He announced to go to Cottbus to support Awemo in the campaign.
