The coalition agreement between the CDU and SPD in Hesse was signed in Wiesbaden by Boris Rhein and Nancy Faeser, representatives of their respective parties. This marks the end of the exploratory talks and the beginning of a new partnership in the state government. Despite the CDU's victory in the Hesse state election with 34.6%, the SPD's third place with 15.1% likely influenced the decision to form a coalition. The new state parliament will convene on January 18, and it remains to be seen how this coalition will impact the political landscape in Hesse.
