- CDP politician expresses viewpoint: collaboration with BSW would be detrimental

CDU representative Dennis Radtke flat-out refuses any collaboration with the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance (BSW). "Any partnership with the BSW would be poisonous for the CDU," the EU representative shared with "Tagesspiegel".

"Any collaboration between the CDU and the BSW in a federal state would harm the CDU nationwide," Radtke continued. The party has a duty towards Germany and Europe. "We can't form a coalition or partner with allies of Putin." He isn't sure if his colleagues in Saxony and Thuringia are truly prepared to forge an alliance with the BSW.

Radtke labeled the possibility of the AfD and BSW jointly securing a majority in the upcoming Thuringia state election as a "nightmarish scenario!" However, he fails to comprehend the argument that the CDU should form a coalition with the BSW to create a slightly less terrifying scenario.

For weeks, talks have been ongoing in Thuringia regarding a potential coalition with the BSW. As per surveys, a majority without the AfD or BSW involvement is unattainable. Since no one wants to form a coalition with the AfD, classified as right-wing extremist by the state constitutional protection agency, all attention is now on the Wagenknecht party.

The CDU's stance against collaborating with the BSW extends beyond Saxony and Thuringia, potentially affecting the party nationwide. Radtke's concerns about partnering with the BSW also include their perceived aligned interests with Putin.
