Wiesbaden - Caught thief sprays store detective with pepper spray
A 31-year-old man attacked a store detective in Wiesbaden after a failed theft attempt. This was reported by the police on Thursday. The 26-year-old had observed the suspected thief on Wednesday evening as he tried to leave a supermarket in Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt with goods worth almost 500 euros without paying for them. When she tried to stop him from stealing, the 31-year-old man tried to hit her and then sprayed her with pepper spray. Nevertheless, with the help of a witness, the store detective managed to detain the thief until the police arrived.
Rescue workers treated the woman injured in the face by the pepper spray on the spot, according to a police spokeswoman on Thursday. The goods that the man wanted to steal included clothing, alcohol and printing materials.
