Mainz-Bingen - Caught drunk and on drugs with an e-scooter

A 37-year-old man in Bingen got on an e-scooter after consuming drugs and alcohol - and was caught. The man was known to the police, so a patrol stopped him in the afternoon on a Thursday, according to a police statement. The officers detected an alcohol odor during the check. An alcohol breath test then showed a value of 1.02 promille.

Furthermore, the officers noticed residues of apparently freshly cut amphetamines at the man's nostrils. The man denied drug use, but a drug rapid test proved the opposite. In addition, officers found an amphetamine paste and Ecstasy tablets on the 37-year-old.
