In a fire at an agricultural operation in the Ansbach district, four cattle were initially reported injured. Preliminary estimates suggest damages in the millions, according to a police spokesperson.

The fire started for unknown reasons in a barn with adjacent straw bales in a municipality of Wassertrudingen. The flames spread to the adjacent cow barn, prompting the evacuation of the building.

The number of animals in the barn at the time of the fire was initially unknown. The veterinary office was on site. No human injuries were reported. The criminal police took over the investigation.

The barn where the fire spread housed numerous cattle. Despite the efforts of the veterinary office, some of the cattle may have suffered further harm due to the smoke and heat.
