Following a lethal mishap, the A4 highway heading towards Goerlitz close to Bautzen has been shut down. There are also limitations in place at the Koenigshainer Berge tunnel.
As per law enforcement reports, the incident on Tuesday night featured a tourist bus and a pedestrian. The man passed away instantly at the site. His identification remains undisclosed at this time. The reason behind the accident remains a mystery.
The A4 is blocked between Bautzen West and Ost,heading towards Goerlitz.
Truck malfunction leads to Koenigshainer Berge tunnel closure
Concerningly, another segment of the A4 heading towards Goerlitz was shut down a few hours later. A truck suffered a transmission failure within the tunnel Koenigshainer Berge, according to authorities. The tunnel and the Nieder Seifersdorf junction are presently blocked.
The incident on the A4 near Bautzen is being managed by local police forces. Due to the truck malfunction, additional police presence is required in the Koenigshainer Berge tunnel area.
