Öhringen - Cat has his fur pulled off: police investigate

A tomcat has been seriously injured by unknown persons in Öhringen (Hohenlohe district). The animal's fur had been completely removed from its tail, a police spokesman said on Wednesday. A vet had ruled out an accident on the road or on a fence as the cause. The police assume that the animal was caught and willfully tortured. They have opened an investigation into a violation of the Animal Welfare Act. The animal had left a house unharmed last week and returned half an hour later with serious injuries via the cat flap.
