If you've lost your voting confirmation, you can still vote at the polling stations. "As long as the voter is enlisted in the voter roll and can confirm their identity using a personal ID or passport, there's no hindrance to casting a vote," the election commissioner reported. However, the voting confirmation is useful in helping the election board to locate registered voters more efficiently in the voter roll.

During the local elections, each voter gets two votes. "There's no prioritization between the two votes; both carry equal weight for shaping the future composition of the Thuringian state parliament. The state vote plays a crucial role in determining the allocation of seats in the Thuringian state parliament," underscored election commissioner Holger Poppenhäger.

On the left side of the ballot, you'll discover the district vote for the direct election of an MP in the district. Whoever receives the highest number of votes secures the seat. The voter then chooses the state list of a party on the right side of the ballot through the state vote. The names of the top five candidates show up under the corresponding party name.

In the process of conducting the local elections, each electoral district plays a significant role in representing its constituents. The outcome of the direct election for an MP in a particular electoral district relies heavily on the votes cast within that district.
