Casper does not release all his songs
Rapper Casper is now thinking more about which songs he wants to release. "Actually, everything goes out pretty unfiltered. There's very little that I throw away because I sometimes sit on things for a long time," he said in an interview with dpa in Berlin. "But at the moment I'm thinking more about the fact that maybe not everything I do always has to be for the public."
For example, he has decided against releasing the title track of his new album "nur liebe, immer." for the time being. "It was the first time in my career that I had sleepless nights because I wasn't sure whether I wanted to release such a personal song." According to Casper, the song is about his own family history, among other things.
On the day of the deadline, he decided to put the song on hold for the time being - even though Casper considers it one of the best songs he has ever written. "Of course that's totally unsatisfactory," he says. "But I'm keeping the option open of perhaps releasing it again at a later date."
People often connect with an artist's music on a personal level. Despite considering it one of his best compositions, Casper decided to postpone the release of the title track 'nur liebe, immer,' as he wanted to protect its personal significance, sharing that it reflects on his family history.
