Bielefeld - Cash van ripped open: perpetrators flee with loot

Unknown individuals have intercepted a cargo truck carrying money on Autobahn 2 near Bielefeld and stolen money crates. According to the police, the two drivers of the cargo truck had taken a break at the Lipperland-Süd rest stop for lunch. While they were doing so, the perpetrators cut a hole in the side of the truck using a angle grinder and stole three crates containing cash from the interior. A police spokesperson declined to comment on the value of the stolen goods. Since the crime took place on Thursday afternoon in the parking lot right in front of the gas station, the police are hoping for witnesses.

The police are investigating the theft at the Lipperland-Süd rest stop in Bielefeld, where a cash transporter was targeted on Autobahn 2. The crime occurred in North Rhine-Westphalia, and the perpetrators made their escape with cash crates from the truck. Witnesses are urged to come forward, as the incident occurred in a public area near the gas station on Thursday afternoon.
