- Cars colliding on A4 - woman seriously injured
In a collision involving two cars on the A4 highway in Thuringia, two women were injured - one of them severely. A 20-year-old woman collided side-on with a passenger car on the left lane, the police reported. The woman's car overturned multiple times between Sättelstädt and Eisenach-Ost, resulting in severe injuries for the driver, who was taken to a hospital. A 78-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the other car, sustained minor injuries and was also treated in a clinic.
The cause of the crash remains unknown, and the police have called in an expert to investigate. The total damage to the involved cars and the adjacent embankment was estimated at 41,000 euros. The A4 was closed in the direction of Frankfurt for approximately three hours.
The expert appointed by the police will examine the condition of both the damaged cars, including the one that the 20-year-old woman was driving. Despite the closure of the A4, traffic congestion persisted for several kilometers due to the overturned car.
