Fire department dispatch in Kreuzberg - Cars are burning in a deep garage under a house

In a deep garage in Berlin-Kreuzberg near Oranienstraße, three cars are on fire. The fire is not yet under control, said a fire department spokesperson to the German Press Agency. Containing fires in deep garages is already challenging and labor-intensive. In this case, the deep garage is located under a four-story residential building with multiple basement levels, from which smoke is coming. The basement levels are being constantly monitored and ventilated. There are no injured reported.

The smoke development at the building is relatively strong. A dwelling directly above the deep garage is affected by the smoke, otherwise, the Fire Department is trying to let people stay in their apartments. There are 85 firefighters on site. A person who was found asleep is being cared for by the Fire Department, but is not injured. The cause of the fire is unknown.

The Fire Department operation at the site in Kreuzberg is being coordinated by the local Fire Department team. Despite the challenging conditions, the Fire Department is making progress in controlling the fire in the deep garage. The German Press Agency reported that the Fire Department is using specialized equipment to fight the fire in the auto-filled garage located near Oranienstraße. Due to the smoke spread, the Fire Department has advised nearby residents on Oranienstraße to keep their windows closed.
