Accidents under the influence of alcohol? - Car stripped and hit by reverse traffic - man injured
A 41-year-old driver is suspected of causing multiple accidents on the county road 67 between Worth and Geesthacht. The man was seriously injured but not in life-threatening condition, according to police. The other parties involved remained unharmed. The estimated property damage is 20,000 euros.
According to initial findings, the 41-year-old first clipped the car of a 59-year-old woman while overtaking her on Thursday evening. In a further overtaking maneuver, he collided with an oncoming car, according to police.
The 43-year-old driver of the other car lost control of his vehicle, which skidded into a ditch. Finally, the 41-year-old's car also skidded and overturned, police reported.
There were indications that the 41-year-old was under the influence of alcohol during the accidents, but a voluntary alcohol test could not be conducted, so a blood sample was taken at the hospital, police said.
The police are investigating the role of alcohol in the accidents, as the driver was suspected to be under its influence. Despite the multiple collisions, no other drivers were charged by the police.
