Car rolls into kindergarten wall
Because a 71-year-old forgot to pull the handbrake, his car rolled into the wall of a kindergarten in Lower Franconia. According to the police, the incident on Wednesday afternoon in Partenstein (Main-Spessart district) caused total damage of around 16,000 euros and nobody was injured.
According to the police, the man and his wife had planned to go to a cemetery. The 71-year-old dropped his wife off there and wanted to park the car on a nearby street. However, he had not applied the handbrake. When he wanted to get out of the car, the vehicle rolled off the sloping road. The man was still in the car when it broke through the metal fence of the kindergarten and got stuck between the raised garden wall and the wall of the house. The car had to be recovered with a crane.
The incident in Partenstein brought traffic to a standstill, causing delays and frustration for commuters in the area. Despite the car's location under the kindergarten's underside or underfront, no children were present at the time of the accident.
