Accident - Car leaves the road near Naumburg: Three dead
Three people died in a car accident in the south of Sachsen-Anhalt early Monday morning. Two women and one man, all in their early twenties, were involved in the accident, according to the police.
The car was traveling with five people on the Landesstraße 204 near Naumburg. The 43-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle around 2:15 am and veered off the road, crashing down a slope. Three of the passengers died at the scene. The 43-year-old driver and an 18-year-old female passenger were taken to the hospital with light injuries.
According to the latest information, no other vehicle was involved in the accident, a police spokesperson said. However, they could not provide any further details about the accident sequence.
The accident investigation is still ongoing. After the removal of the car, fuel spills from the road needed to be cleaned up. The road was initially closed.
