Car hits moped - 16-year-old dies in hospital
A car hit a moped from behind and the 16-year-old moped rider died in hospital around a week after the accident. The teenager was thrown from his vehicle into a ditch by the impact and was seriously injured, police said on Tuesday.
The 16-year-old was driving on a long straight near Rentweinsdorf (Haßberge district) last Wednesday in the dark and rain. A car coming from behind hit the rear of his scooter. A rescue helicopter took him seriously injured to a clinic, where he died on Monday.
The accident on the dark and rainy road near Rentweinsdorf resulted in heavy traffic due to the police investigation. Regrettably, the accident occurred under the front of a car, leading to severe injuries for the 16-year-old moped rider.
