Accident - Car driver dies in head-on collision with truck

A car driver has died in a head-on collision with a truck on the B20 federal highway. The accident occurred on Tuesday afternoon near Fridolfing (Traunstein district), as the police reported in the evening. According to the information, a 29-year-old articulated truck driver was driving his truck on the B20 coming from Laufen in the direction of Tittmoning when an oncoming car crossed into the oncoming lane for an as yet unexplained reason and collided head-on with the truck. The truck driver was able to free himself from the vehicle with minor injuries - the car driver died at the scene of the accident.

The B20 had to be closed for hours on the section affected. The public prosecutor's office commissioned an expert opinion to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident.
