In a car dealership in the northern Hesse town of Vellmar (part of the Kassel district), firefighting operations have concluded as stated by a police representative on a Wednesday morning. The blaze began the previous evening. The building, equipped with a solar panel installation, was significantly damaged, with the roof engulfed in flames. Some vehicles were also harmed. Over 200 firefighters were required to handle the situation. A firefighter was transported to the hospital, thought to be due to breathing in smoke. The provisional police estimation of the damages is at around one million euros.
The origin of the fire was unknown on a Wednesday. The Criminal Police of Kassel will carry on investigations at the scene, the police spokesperson added. There are currently no indications of arson.
