Accidents - Car crashes off A20 onto parking lot - 100,000 euros property damage

A Van came off the Autobahn 20 in the Landkreis Vorpommern-Greifswald due to heavy rain and caused approximately 100,000 Euros worth of damage. According to the police, two men aged 35 and 39 had to be taken to the hospital with light injuries.

The incident occurred yesterday evening near Strasburg (Uckermark), causing the van to skid and veer to the right, leaving the road towards Stettin. It hit a grass embankment and collided with two parked heavy goods trailers on a rest area. These trailers were loaded with large machinery for wind turbines. "Damages to at least one of the wind turbines cannot be ruled out," the police statement read. The car sustained a total loss and had to be towed away.

  4. The Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania police are appealing to all road users to drive carefully during heavy rainfall to reduce the risk of accidents and to ensure everyone's safety on the roads.
