Car crashes into tributary of the Diemel
In northern Hesse, a driver left the road and crashed into a tributary of the Diemel. As reported by the North Hesse Police Headquarters, the accident occurred on Saturday afternoon in the Sielen district of the municipality of Trendelburg (Kassel district). The car left the road for an as yet unexplained reason, broke through a fence and crashed into the water.
The rescue work was very difficult due to the local conditions, the officials reported. Apart from the driver, there were no other people in the vehicle. The 46-year-old was taken to Kassel Hospital and his state of health was described as critical. The fire department set up an oil barrier to prevent environmental damage. An expert was called in to determine the cause of the accident.
The accident involving the car in North Hesse, which resulted in the driver being critically injured, occurred near a tributary of the Diemel. Subsequently, authorities in North Hessa launched an investigation to determine the cause of the accident, as it involved a vehicle leaving the road and crashing into the water.
