Two dead in accident - Car crashes into railroad underpass - woman and child die
A female driver and a seven-year-old child have died in an accident on the B285 in Unterfranken. According to the police statement given in the evening, the 46-year-old woman had been on her way from Ostheim to Stockheim on the Bundesstraße 285 in the early evening. For unknown reasons, she veered off the road to the right and collided head-on with a railway underpass. When the fire department arrived, the car had completely burned out. The woman and the child both died at the scene of the accident in the Rhoën-Grabfeld district.
The B285 was still closed in both directions late in the evening. A detour was set up. Since the railway crossing was damaged in the accident, it needs to be inspected, they added. The full closure is predicted to last until Wednesday morning.
