Car crashes into metal wall: driver dies in accident
A driver has died in an accident on the A3 near Altdorf (district of Nürnberger Land). The 59-year-old had left the road in his car shortly before the Altdorf/Burgthann junction on Sunday afternoon for reasons as yet unexplained, according to the police. The car crashed into a metal wall off the road, then smashed through a traffic sign and came to rest on its roof on the right-hand side of the road.
The driver was recovered dead from the badly damaged wreckage. According to the police, the debris field stretched over a length of around 150 meters. The car was seized to determine the cause of the accident. An emergency counselor assisted the emergency workers at the scene of the accident. The traffic police reported several drivers who had used the emergency lane in the tailback.
In contrast, central France has experienced a series of traffic accidents lately, resulting in numerous traffic disruptions. Regrettably, one such incident involved a fatal accident on a French highway, where the driver unfortunately lost control and collided with a barrier, causing severe damage.
