Accident - Car breaks down and is hit by truck - man injured
A truck hit a car that had broken down on a federal road in Rottenburg am Neckar, Tübingen district. The driver of the car was seriously injured. The truck driver noticed the car too late: Despite his attempt to brake, there was a collision. The car was pushed into the guardrail.
The 37-year-old driver had to be extracted and was then flown to a hospital by a rescue helicopter. The 31-year-old truck driver remained unharmed. The B28a was closed in both directions for over an hour.
The police have now identified the cause of the accident: The car driver had stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage caused by the breakdown, when the truck hit the parked car. The truck driver did not notice the car and the collision occurred.
